Petit Bill’s Bistro

A valentine celebration! Great meal, with superb flavours in the salmon and in the chicken. The chowder is to die for! Beyond excellent. The service, prompt and attentive without being pushy. My wife said, “what a great way to celebrate Valentines”. The desert was so good, I went back to get some that they boxed up for me. They are so kind and personable. We have been recommending them, for 17 years, to anyone we meet, and we have never been wrong. Thanks so much everyone !

I was really disappointed with my experience here. I ordered a burger wrapped in lettuce with cheese, expecting something flavorful and well-presented—especially for a high-ranking restaurant. Instead, what I received looked plain and unappetizing, with no cheese and barely any effort in presentation. For the price and reputation, I expected much better quality and attention to detail. Definitely not worth the hype.

After a very long 2 weeks on vacation my wife and I were looking to find our own way away from others. We drove looking for a different vibe and after finding ourselves at the city of Ottawa public works yard we succumbed to Google maps to find something close by.
To our absolute delight we found ourselves at Petite Bill’s Bistro. Not knowing anything about it we walked in blind and hoped for the best.
First we were met with the kindest most genuine friendly person who with her infectious smile welcomed us in. Our server was equally kind and genuine. He recognized that we were a little fried and was quick with a joke and speedy service to an absolutely delicious americano. We followed up with ordering the Veggie chowder special and seafood chowder. Both were amazing and served with homemade butter buns. Lunch consisted of fish and chips for me and French dip grilled cheese for my wife.
The food felt homemade. I say that because Petite Bill’s has its roots in Newfoundland and once we discovered that we understood why it felt like home.

We had a fantastic dinner at Petit Bill’s. Randy, the owner, was walking around helping guests and checking in on the service throughout the evening which was very nice to see. Our waiter, Connor, was terrific and very helpful in providing menu suggestions as well.
We had the Lobster Wontons to start and then the Short Rib and the Fish & Frites which were all wonderful but the real surprise was the Bread Pudding for dessert. Don’t sleep on the bread pudding!

I had a wonderful experience dining here. The cod special was absolutely fantastic—perfectly cooked, fresh, and packed with flavor. You could tell a lot of care went into preparing it. The service was also outstanding. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, which made the meal even more enjoyable. Everything about the visit—from the food to the service—was truly impressive. I would definitely recommend this place and look forward to coming back again soon!
