Now let’s talk about the food,absolutely amazing! You can truly taste the love in every dish. Unlike some places that feel commercial, the food here tastes homemade and authentic. What really stands out is the consistency — every time, the quality is on point.
Another thing I appreciate is the timing. When you call ahead and they say your order will be ready in 15–20 minutes, it actually is. That level of reliability is rare and appreciated.
Don’t skip dessert! I personally love the Haitian cake — it’s delicious and perfectly balanced, not overly sweet.
If you’re not sure what to try, I highly recommend: • The goat plate with white or brown rice
• The legume (vegetable stew)
• The pork dish if you’re a pork lover

Monique’s restaurant has some of the best tasting food I’ve had in a while. You can tell she puts lots of love & care into her cooking. It was beautiful seeing all her family helping out & they offered us freshly squeezed juice & pieces of cake! The portions are unbeatable & the flavours are incredible. Monique’s Caribbean Takeout is a family and authentic Haitian owned and operated restaurant, small price for a big plate.

I originally met Monique at her old restaurant “Moniques Haitian Food” which is no longer owned/operated by her and you can tell. She speaks Creole and English and the food is best takeout in Ottawa by far.

This is all my wife wanted for her “Push Present” and speaking of family, Monique somehow remembers me and my family and asks about them every time im here. It’s these little things that make this place so great.

They always take care of their customers. Fish, Chicken to Goat it’s all here. My personal favorite “Kabrit and diri ak pwa”.

Pictures show her 3 varienta of rice (white, red bean and black bean), Kabrit, her pikliz is one of my favorites, plantains are thin and crispy on outside but still soft on I side, the way I like them and her desserts are plentiful.

Highly recommend this restaurant, call ahead and it will be ready for you when you get there.
