Almanac Urban Mill & Bakery

Really love this new location, we have gone a few time now and have purchased the egg croissant twist Wow! so good, they offer to heat it up, warm and flaky, so light and buttery delicious, I hope they will also do croissants with this dough, it is very good.

We enjoyed the butter shortbread and chocolate hazelnut muffin, bergamot orange morning bun(delicious), and chocolate s’mores pop tart.

They have a full espresso bar.
We have tried all of the high quality breads from previous farmers market purchases and love them!

Great spot for a coffee and baked good/breakfast. Have had the sausage breakfast sandwich, focaccia, walnut bread and morning bun. All superb and a great way to support a local small business. They also stock Fly by Jing crisp and Molly Baz’s mayo.

Love Almanac breads and baked goods. So happy to have this new location in Little Italy so I don’t have to make the trek out to their original location in Gloucester, lol. They use organic grains and stone-mill their own flour. All their foods have this delicious rustic taste to them. Unlike the location on Canotek Rd this Beech St location is a cafe and has seating.

Consistently tasty espresso drinks (from a local roaster!) and amazing baked goods (changed regularly) and bread made with grains you may not be familiar with! Good flexible seating options. Some faves: Breakfast sandwich on a house-made (???!!!) English muffin was probably best I’ve eaten: Puffy tangy toasty muffin, somehow-still-creamy-and-gooey scramble, cheese, just the right small amount of red onion and mayo. The foccacia pizza has been fire both times I tried it. I am not sure about accessibility for folks using wheelchairs as there are some stairs (a few steps up to the entrance and counter, then back down to the seating), but they may have a workaround or be planning one 🙂 Great addition to the neighbourhood.

So happy they’ve opened a new location!! The quality of the dough is unparalleled. The focaccia is delicious and so are all the desserts (the rye brownie, chocolate pecan cookie, PB cookie). They have a 50% off frozen section too which is great!
