EVOO Greek Kitchen

This is my third visit to Evoo. The food is always amazing. It’s not _just_ a Greek restaurant. They do it all with panache, they have the difference between eating and dining. Our servers were very nice and attentive.

Everything that I’ve ordered has been wonderful. It tastes really good, but it’s also presented very nicely. The grilled items are charred the correct amount for aroma and still juicy.

If you want to treat someone, or yourself, give them a try.

The food is amazing, fresh and delicious. One of the very few restaurants that prides quality ingredients over eveything. The price point accurately reflects the quality of the food. Definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone living or visiting ottawa. Food is authentic greek.

Service was amazing and I was shockingly surprised on the indept knowledge the staff had in regards to wine and wine pairing.

Highly recommend going with a group as the dishes are meant to be shared. Service was top notch – our server was prompt and explained every dish to my parents who weren’t familiar with Greek cuisine. (I believe he said his family owns the place.) We had the seafood platter for four with sides and dessert – the food was impeccable. The sea bass in particular was incredible!!

First time here and loved the food and service was great. If you love to share this is the place to go. I shared with a friend the meatballs, pork souvlaki and lemon potatoes. Honestly the best lemon potatoes I’ve had in Ottawa. The meatballs were cooked perfectly. I will be back to try the other great items on their menu. They have 4 or 5 items if you don’t want to share with anyone in thy menu as well which my friends loved.

Dined here for the first time with colleagues. Elegant ambiance, though our table was oddly smoky — we left smelling like the grill special.
Food highlights:
Evoo Trio Spreads: Decent.
Prasani Salata: Refreshing but heavy on lemon/vinegar.
Evoo Chopped Chicken: Too salty for my taste.
Pork Souvlaki, Lemon Potatoes, Baked Rice: Solid and satisfying.
Service was great — Catherine was attentive and friendly. Note: 20% gratuity auto-added for groups of 8+, so no need to tip extra unless you’re feeling generous. Reservations have a 15-min grace period, and large parties get 2.5 hours.
Would I return? Maybe. Would I recommend? Definitely — especially to friends who enjoy smoky ambiance with their souvlaki.

Overall, an enjoyable evening with great food and great service.

The only main critique I have is that visually this place looks like a nice Greek taverna, but it’s contrasted with the uptempo house/pop music playing during dinner. It just doesn’t fit well with the vibe and authenticity of the food. To me, this restaurant should be playing instrumental Greek music to add to its ambiance.

Our waiter Matt was great, attentive and kind. The roasted chicken and lemon potatoes were fantastic. The chicken was cooked to perfection; savory, juicy, tender, and full of flavor. Highly recommend this dish.

So overall, I would return, but it’s just missing that last piece of ambiance.
