I have been wanting to try this for dinner since it opened last year as I love carbonara and this was FANTASTIC.
The ambiance is cute, not fancy but not casual. At night it’s intimate, dim lighting, candles and the decor of the wood and fake plants make it cute. It does get loud in there if it’s fully packed and seats are close together but it’s part of the dining experience. Sit at the bar or the second bar as it’s fun to watch the bartender make drinks and you can also sit next to your partner and hear them better.
Our server Alex was so attentive and it was his second day on the job and he always came to check on us, update us on drinks/food and always found out info if we had a question. Shoutout to him!
We tried the drip house martini and the Bodega NY sour. Found the drip house martini a tad too sweet so a bit less simple syrup would have been good but otherwise very smooth. The NY sour was not super sweet which was good but nothing too special so I’d skip this and try another cocktail. House red was really good, light but bold and not too dry and for $17 for half a litre, def worth it.
Focaccia with the ricotta was nice but the bread was soaked in oil, recommend trying the arancini. The carbonara has been the best I’ve had in the city so far with the egg on top and the perfect amount of cheese. They even used the right size pasta which is a thicker noodle like they do in Italy. Also tried the mortadella sandwich that was packed with meat and the pesto was so fresh with it.
Pistachio cannoli, highly recommend this one. Got the chocolate gelato but it didn’t really taste like gelato seemed more like regular ice cream.
Overall for price, ambiance, food and service I loved it here and this is now going to be our go to spot for date nights :).
**we’ve been back a second time already and they remembered us. Thanks Alex!**
