Pho K Fusion

Absolutely loved the Chả Cá Lã Vọng at PHO K Fusion! They’ve done a fantastic job modernizing this classic Hanoi dish. The turmeric-marinated fish was perfectly crispy on the outside and super tender inside. Served sizzling with fresh dill and spring onions, it was an explosion of flavor. A must-try for anyone who loves authentic Vietnamese food with a creative twist!

Great portions and delicious food! I also love the way it’s plated, very beautiful and pleasing to the palate, and service was kind and warm. Would recommend coming here and trying their special Vietnamese dishes as not many other places offer some of their selections!!

​I hate to say it, but a lot of Vietnamese spots in Ottawa have started to taste the same to me (usually pretty underwhelming with cookie-cutter menus). So, I was excited to discover that Pho K Fusion had some unique offerings.
​We tried the Lòng dồi (pork offal platter). A few pieces had a slightly strong smell, but overall the platter was great. It’s definitely not for a Western palate since it comes with the traditional shrimp/fish paste, but as someone who grew up in Southeast Asia eating this, I enjoyed it.
​We also had the Hà Nội Grilled Pork platter (Bún Chả), which was smoky, juicy, and served with a fish sauce that actually had some depth to it. Even the Bún Bò Huế was better than most versions I’ve had around the city.

Reasonable prices, generous portions, and they aren’t stingy with the herbs. They are also fairly new, so I’m excited to come back and explore more of their menu.

Tried this Vietnamese spot and ordered bún chả, lòng dồi, and bún đậu mắm tôm. Overall, it was just okay.

The bún đậu mắm tôm was the biggest letdown. The meat tasted like it had been sitting out for a while, the fried tofu was soaked with water instead of being crisp, and the mắm tôm – which really makes or breaks this dish – was only average. It was fine, but definitely could’ve been better.

Bún chả was okay as well, but the grilled meat pieces/meatballs had a strange texture and didn’t feel that fresh. There are better versions of this dish elsewhere.

Not terrible, but nothing really stood out. If you’re craving these specific dishes, there are stronger options around.

All the dishes here are delicious, and the staff provide attentive and friendly service. This place has just opened, so I highly recommend everyone come and try it
