Zakuska Market and Deli

We were a bit disappointed to learn that the shop changed hands. It went from Russian / Ukrainian cuisine to Turkish. We were still able to pickup pel’meni, varenniki, caviar, kvas, and deli. But its not “Zakuska” without some staple food like smoked mackerel, salted herring, and pirozhki (something east-european folks would cross a city for)! The staff was very friendly thou. Thank you 🙂

First time going in here. Upon entry we were greeted and then offered a complimentary tea/coffee. Clean, organized. Beautiful products. SUPER friendly and welcoming. We will be back, thank you!!

Zakuska Market and Deli is an amazing place! Especially the Turkish-style pastirma and sucuk are very delicious and high quality. The taste is very authentic and reminds me of traditional Turkish products. The baklava varieties are fresh, perfectly sweet, and really tasty.

The staff is friendly and helpful, and the store is clean and well organized. You can find many international and Turkish specialty products here. I highly recommend this place to anyone who misses Turkish flavors in Ottawa!

Super great store! Truly reminds me of the older type of European stores. What makes this store amazing is really the staff. Yes the products are great too, but 5 star service.

I typically get my deli meat here since it’s different and grat quality and fresh. There are also other great things like fish or little treats. Worth a stop for sure if you want to discover something different.
