Moo Shu Ice Cream

Loca ice cream shop with many Asian-inspired flavours. The flavours are all very strong, and their waffle cone is very unique, thin & crunchy.

Spacious with many tables & chairs, and there are many Asian goods sold (sauce, skinscare, etc.).

I am just a visitor in Ottawa, and Im lucky that my local friend took me here for a yet another unique ice cream experience!

If you are looking for genuinely creative, small-batch ice cream in Ottawa, Moo Shu is an absolute must-visit. This isn’t your standard scoop shop; they excel at unique, Asian-inspired flavours that you won’t find anywhere else. Every flavour is made with serious care, resulting in a luscious, creamy texture that perfectly carries their bold combinations. You’ll definitely want to skip the basic vanilla here and dive into their “Forever” flavours. The Hong Kong Milk Tea is a classic for a reason—it tastes exactly like the drink! Other standouts include the nutty and rich Black Sesame, the nostalgically sweet White Rabbit (like the famous candy), and the refreshing Ginger Vanilla Bean. They also consistently offer fantastic vegan options, such as Vegan Dalgona & Coffee or Vegan Mango Sticky Rice, ensuring everyone can enjoy a treat. Don’t miss their homemade gluten-free and vegan waffle cones, which are light and crispy. Beyond the ice cream, they often feature Taiwanese shaobing wraps and other fun offerings, making it a great spot for a light lunch or coffee. The staff are welcoming and clearly passionate about their unique menu. Five stars for creativity, quality, and flavour innovation!

The peach ice cream and waffle cone were amazing. I wasn’t a fan of the “Grandma’s House” ice cream fllavour.
But would give a 4.5 rating if I could.

This was a perfect little treat during our stay in Ottawa. The ice cream flavours were unique and they also have prepackaged items too! I wish I was able to try more flavours because the durian ice cream sandwich looked very tempting. Tried the vegan matcha pocky and the cherry cheesecake. Both excellent in flavour and the in house made waffle cone was the best I ever had. Very crispy and light. So good! I wish I had more time to check out the other part of the menu too. Would have to come back next trip!

Went here on my most recent trip to Canada. We got the bong Kong milk tea and white rabbit scoops. They were both really good flavors. The only negative thing was that it kind of left a bit of a waxy coating in my mouth. The flavor list was very unwise which I liked and the ice cream itself was very smooth. Overall it was a good experience 🙂
