Food was great- only had it once so unsure of its consistency. Would come again to try something else. Menu tells you that you can adjust saltiness of ramen soup, i would definitely recommend having less salt (and adding if needed).
The bowls were really wide at the top and very narrow at the bottom

The restaurant atmosphere was nice, would be a cute date or small get together. Had some popular jpop playing which was nice

Tried Kuma for the first time as we were in the area. We ordered the tonkotsu, hellfire spicy ramen and the karaage curry rice. The kitchen made the katsu curry instead so they left us keep the katsu and brought out some karaage on the side.

The karaage was not the traditional japanese coating. Not light and crispy, but on the crunchier side. The curry sauce tasted like the Japanese cubed curry boxes you can buy.

The ramen broths were decent but I would prefer sansotei over this spot.

Service was good, server brought out some stickers for my daughter :).

Overall it’s not bad, but I wouldn’t drive out of my way to come here.

Great place! Their Omurice Karaage Chicken Curry is amazing. Definitely my favourite now.
Their Ramen broth had no salt in it but once we added salt then it was good.

A bowl of hot ramen on a snowy day felt extra comforting. The broth was rich but not heavy. The noodles had a nice chew and the soft-boiled egg was especially delicious. A simple, satisfying meal that really hit the spot in the cold weather.

Ordered take out, got the shoyu ramen and katsu curry. The katsu was probably the worst katsu I have ever had in my life. It was over fried and the chicken inside is non existent (refer to photo) . Not sure if it’s even a piece of chicken or cardboard, its so thin. It is very oily and you can taste the old fryer oil when eating it. The curry is really average, tastes just like the Japanese curry cubes from the grocery store.
The ramen was pretty average. Not the best, not the worst. The broth is pretty milky and the flavour is there. The chashu was a pretty dry but it did have a good smoky flavour.
I was overall unimpressed with the food, not sure why it has such high ratings.

This is the most yummiest ramen I’ve ever had.

If you want to feel like you’re being tucked into a warm blanket, eat this ramen. It’s just so good, the egg is cooked to perfection, the chashu(pork) is so tender and the broth is so creamy and delicious.

The service is amazing, and the atmosphere is very pleasant with the retro Tokyo styled music in the background. The food delivery after ordering is very fast and the server is very friendly and kind.
I’ve brought many friends to this place because it’s just too good, and they enjoyed this place as much as I did.
If I could give this place a 1000/10 I would. 🙂

Food was 5/5! We’ll be back. We ordered the tonkotsu black, hellfire spicy, omurice chicken katsu curry, karaange chicken, and takoyaki. Both broths had so much flavour. The hellfire is actually spicy, which is great! Chicken katsu was crispy. My daughter said the curry plate was perfect and eggs were soft. The karaange was slightly breaded on the outside and juicy on the inside. The takoyaki had chunks of octopus and was flavourful.

Service was great. Our server was attentive from beginning to end. We went during lunch and it was pretty busy.

A gem in Kanata!

If you are looking for an authentic tasting ramen, this is it. I am not exaggerating when I say this is the best ramen I have had in Ottawa. The broth is made fresh daily, so you know you aren’t getting frozen leftovers that will have your stomach gurgling afterwards.

We also had the Chicken Karage and Gyoza. Both were equally delicious. The Karage tasted fresh and was incredibly tender. It also wasn’t oily or fatty, unlike some of the Karage I’ve had at other restaurants. The Gyoza tasted homemade and was my partner’s favourite of the two.

Although the food speaks for itself, the staff was very friendly and you could tell that the owners put lots of love and care into their food. I had to opportunity to speak to one of the owners and she informed me that they want to ensure that the staff are familiar with the menu before including new dishes. Personally, I feel that their current selection is great. They also have some curry and omu rice dishes that I definitely would like to try next.

All in all, this is a must try for any Ramen lovers in Ottawa.
