Takedon Ottawa

These folks are really amazing. I’ve never been there but I have ordered online a lot many times and the food always hits the spot! I generally get the ginger pork or beef donburi and their ajitama flavoured egg, and they are my absolute comfort meals. It’s always fresh, and consistently good. I ask for some extra sauce each time because the first couple of times I ordered it I found it dry, and they always, always indulge. I think this is a bunch of very kind folks running a quality establishment. My only mini cons is that with taxes, even without tips, it comes to 30+ dollars while ordering in, and this becomes quite a pinch on the pocket for a single size meal, especially when you add delivery person’s tip on top. However, their quality and taste makes me order it repeatedly despite that. 100% will keep ordering!

Teriyaki Chicken is my most favourite. I ate more than 50+ times and it is always fresh and tasty 😋 !!!

The chef lady is friendly and polite. I bought my family over for takeout and everyone were pleased with the food quality and taste!

My parent “requested” today to get takeout from Takedon! They seldom requested a specific restaurant…. Tonkatsu Fried Pork and Teriyaki Chicken are so good.

But now we have a problem – after finishing the Tonkatsu Fried Pork and Teriyaki Chicken they are all full so I need to find a way to convince them to try other delicious dishes from Takedon!

The owner of this restaurant is very nice, and the service is attentive. It has an open kitchen where you can watch the chefs cooking right in front of you, and the hygiene standards are excellent. I’ve eaten here many times, and the flavors are authentic—just the way I like my Japanese food. The menu is diverse, with a great selection of snacks and drinks as well.

Hidden gem in Ottawa! Happy that I found this place. Food are freshly cooked and delicious. Gyudon beef bowl brings me back to Japan. The ginger pork tastes like my Japanese grandma cooked. Parking is a bit tricky. I parked along the building on green valley. Too bad this place doesn’t have dine in.

Takedon is the definition of a hidden gem. Tucked in a commercial building by the Arboretum, their food is not only hearty and delicious but in dire short supply in Ottawa.
