Gyubee Japanese Grill (Merivale)

Loci and Glenn served us very well and made the experience enjoyable. We had a great time there. The restaurant itself is quite crowded and noisy, but that’s part of the atmosphere. You stay engaged the whole time barbecuing fresh food at the table, which makes the experience fun and interactive.

Amazing service and delicious food. The staff here are very nice. When I was about to leave one of the workers named Loic Arthur had offered 4 free crème brûlées. 10/10 would come again

Zia was our server and was wonderful. The food was tasty and the atmosphere was great. We left at prime dinner time and the lineup to get in was very long, it was hard navigating through to the exit. But that just goes to show the quality of the food there and how many people love it. 10/10

Solid AYCE Japanese BBQ. Meat quality is good for the price, especially the beef and pork belly. Some sides were hit or miss, but the crème brûlée was a nice surprise. Service can be slow when it’s busy, but overall still a good spot if you’re craving BBQ.

The experience was amazing. A guys named jarred served us. He was so helpful and patient with people like me who have no idea what to order. I would come back here anyday. Also guys do try the creme boulle it is worth every penny you can spend. Food is delicious. The place is so clean. The staff is so friendly. I had the most perfect dine in experience honestly.

A friendly warning for future diners: make a reservation before you go. This place gets packed, especially during peak hours, and the queue can test even the hungriest samurai’s patience.

Now to the actual experience. Our group was seated by one of the staff members, Renee. Every staff member we met was kind and attentive, yet Renee delivered truly exceptional service. Our orders were taken promptly, and dishes arrived within a minute or two like magic from the grill gods.

We started with Bibimbap and then moved on to a variety of grilled marinated Kalbi. Wrap that juicy beef in fresh lettuce and the flavor does a celebratory dance in your mouth. Every bite was delicious and full of bold, savory goodness.

Despite the bustling crowd, the vibe remained lively and enjoyable. We left with full stomachs, big smiles, and a mission to return again soon.

We visited Gyubee Japanese Grill (Merivale) as a group of six work colleagues, and we all had an amazing time! The food was fresh, tasty, and perfectly cooked right at the table — a really fun and delicious experience.
