Ay Wey! Mexican Street Tacos

LOVED ay wey!!!!

We had the tacos Al pastor, the brisket taco, and the chicken taco. (Al pastor were our fav!!). We also enjoyed the chocoflan for dessert. Everything was phenomenal – probably my favourite taco place in Ottawa.

Me and mi hermano visited after seeing an ad on IG showcasing a cute, authentic Mexican family owned restaurant serving seductive tacos.  Not only were they seductive but we were shocked at the taste: every bite tasted better than the other. Tacos were packed with rich flavour and juicy meat.

Our favorites: Tacos De Cochinita Pibil (pulled pork), Quesabirria

The service and atmosphere were familial and welcoming. Like in a Mexican home. Sometimes the mamá chef will serve the plate. It brought us back to our Mexico trip 2 years ago.

However, one tip: as a restaurant that is branded as Street Tacos, and since small tacos don’t normally fill the hungry belly, the plates could be cheaper. If a plate was $16 instead of $21.5 +, a person could easily justify getting two instead of one.

We’ll definitely be returning. Just wished the prices allowed us to order more.

Do yourself a favour and make your way over here ASAP. Best new authentic Mexican in Ottawa. Al Pastor and Suadero tacos slapped en esti and the crunchy chicken tacos were a perfect app. Paired with a delicious Michelada for myself and a super tasty mango marg for my girl, and churros and chocolate cake topped with flan for dessert, we’re already planning our next trip back. Don’t sleep on this spot!

Delicious food, reasonable prices. Tacos al Pastor Negros were great, as was the Machete with Suadero. Guac was very good but too pricey @ $18. Good drink selection, including non-alc. Service a bit uneven….we shouldn’t have to ask for plates, utensils, salsa picante.

Chocoflan is UNREAL!! What an ingenious idea, and beautifully executed.

Since my husband immigrated to Ottawa, we struggled so hard to find decent Mexican food. 🥲

The search is finally over🤠

The tacos de suadero were fresh, flavourful, and seasoned well!🌮

The quesadillas de suadero y chicharrón picoso🌶️ were fantastic too!

My only suggestion would be to add bottled salsas (roja, verde) on each table so that one can add more salsa to their food. The authentic Mexican experience 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽
