What a disappointment! I was so excited to finally see a Bangladeshi restaurant open up, but this is what I get for 18 dollars? On Uber Eats it just says βWalima Roastβ with no description at all. As someone who has had Bengali food in different parts of the world, I naturally thought it would be a proper meal with pulao and chicken, especially for the price. Instead, I got something that feels like a complete joke.
Shame on you. If you spent less time trying to cover every cuisine under the sun and actually focused on your own, which is Bengali cuisine, you might have stood a chance. I was just craving the flavors of home, but this was a total letdown. You are nowhere near the level of Bangladeshi restaurants in Toronto or even average takeout spots.
You lost one Bengali customer today. Hereβs some advice if you care about getting better: stop trying to please everyone, focus on your roots, and actually represent our food with pride. Right now, what youβre doing is embarrassing.
Edit after having the food: After actually having the food, it got even worse. The chicken was bland and full of food color with no real taste of Walima roast chicken. Even a subpar Indian restaurant would cook better food than this
