Ibex Habesha Restaurant

The food was very delicious, we ordered the Ibex special, and the plate is well put together and with many toppings. Amy was a good host, she explained to us all the benefits of Injera. Really enjoyed this place.

Ibex Habesha Restaurant is an absolute gem in Ottawa. The food was outstanding, rich, authentic Ethiopian flavours and beautifully prepared, with excellent gluten-free options that did not compromise on taste.. The service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from start to finish. The restaurant itself is stunning inside, elegant, inviting, and thoughtfully designed. An all-around exceptional dining experience. Highly recommended.

My very first time reviewing Habesha restaurant in Canada and I was throughly impressed! This place exceeded all my expectation.

Me and my best friend had really good time in this place. The food was amazing.
The place looked nice and clean. It had a cool vibe. The service was excellent. Amy (owner) is friendly/attentive/helpful. She made sure we had everything we needed without us having to ask.

From the moment you walk in, Amy and the rest of the staff make you feel like family. The food is delicious (just go with the server’s recommendation!) Prices are very affordable, you will be surprised. We were there on a Saturday night, it was a full house and we were fortunate to witness a coffee roasting ceremony.

I recently moved into the neighborhood and was looking online for a restaurant for dinner. We had never tried Ethiopian food before, but the menu and photos looked delicious. We learned that all of the food is nut-free and gluten-free, which was perfect for family members with allergies. The service was amazing, the staff was so friendly, and the food tasted ever better than it looked! We loved all of the different flavours, the generous portions, and hearing the culture and traditions behind some of the dishes. I can’t wait to come back!
