Aperitivo

We went here in the dead of winter so I can’t vouch for the patio. However, inside is a cozy, chill lounge style. Mix of high top with a bench on one side and regular tables. The place isn’t overly large so I would recommend making a reservation. Maybe seating for 30? Open concept. Menu isn’t that big but we had the charcuterie board, faucasia bread and the lamb tacos between the two of us. Food was pretty good. Service was okay. Those three items off the menu and we had three drinks each came to around $150. Parking is a little difficult because there’s lots of things in that area and everyone uses big parking lots and you have to walk to the restaurant.

This was my second visit to Apertivo after almost six years, and it was wonderful. I went for a girls’ night with a friend, and it was the perfect cozy spot for good conversation. The space isn’t too large or crowded, which makes it ideal for catching up.

Our waitresses were very friendly and attentive. The tapas sized portions were just right for sharing. We ordered the oysters, scallops, lamb taco, eggplant, and cornbread, and everything tasted great. The lamb taco was a standout and is a must try.

Their spicy margaritas were also delicious. Highly recommend!

I was amazed about how delicious the food is here! The cocktail list was extensive and all 3 we ordered were well-mixed and prepared. I tried the orange wine from Spain as well- very unique and tasty. I had the albacore and my partner had the duck. Both were absolutely delicious- such unique flavours and both cooked to perfection. I very highly recommend this restaurant.

We had Father’s Day meal here. It was my first time and I will definitely be back. By far the best meal I have had in Ottawa since we moved here 30 years ago. We ordered quite a bit off their menu and were not disappointed with any of our choices. Big stand out are the oysters and focaccia bread. Can’t wait to go back!

One of the best overall meals I have had in a long time. The fried eggplant starter was amazing. Perfect amount of breading and crisp with a fantastic sauce to compliment. The branzino was prepared very well. The artichokes and other veggies were cooked to perfection. Finally, the pumpkin donut trio was cooked to order and came out very warm. The drinks were tasty as well (grove hibiscus). Will definitely return when I’m back in the area. Service was top notch as well!
