Mr. Fez Shawarma (Downtown)

I was looking for a plave to eat in downtown and found Mr. Fez. Reviews were great so I came to check it myself. REVEWS WERE RIGHT! The food is delicious. I come to Ottawa once in a while for work and Mr. Fez just gained a loyal customer. Food is so good that I had to come back the following day. Don’t waste time looking around. Come to Mr. Fez and have an excellent meal.

This was our best meal in Ottawa, and we had a lot of great meals. The owner insisted we try the kibbeh, made by his wife (and told me he’d buy it back if we didn’t love it.) It was OUTSTANDING, as were the shwarma with all the veggie toppings. My son loved the pomegranate molasses and ended up putting it on the potatoes, the sandwich, and the kibbeh. So wonderful, fresh, tasty, and wholesome!

The classic chicken shawarma was amazing, one of the best pitas ive ate. The beef donair was almost as good. However, I didnt like the potatoes because there was too much herbs & spices too my liking. Customer service was very nice, staff was welcoming and they even have a small game where if you win, you get your order for free.

UPDATE: On the business’s reply, there is no option on Uber Eats to choose what kind of salad you get. On the price, the platter used to be $17.50 just a few months ago. Won’t be eating here anymore lol

I go to this place like every week because their shawarma is delicious, but the last few times have rlly been testing my loyalty. last night i got the arabic platter and instead of a salad, they gave me a bunch of coleslaw. i didn’t pay $30 for a mountain of coleslaw. their prices keep climbing while the experience.. does not.

We chose this spot because of the great reviews. We LOVE shawarma and love to try new places whenever we travel but were unfortunately underwhelmed and disappointed in the quality, value and flavour. We ordered the Arabic Platter and Mr Fez platter. The meat was all under-seasoned. The beef had a strange, off-putting texture, the garlic sauce was mediocre, no hummus included. The best item was the chicken pocket and the fries were fine. We ordered takeout as we were staying in a nearby hotel. We we not offered cutlery or napkins and didn’t think to ask so we couldn’t eat the salad the salad.

Tasted pretty good and portion size is quite large. $78 got us 3 rice meals and an authentic shawarma. Only hiccup was the $110 parking ticket due to unavailability of parking nearby.

The best shawarma in Canada! 🍁 We enjoyed it twice a day because it’s just so delicious! 😋🤤 Even at 10:30 PM, there are still plenty of people dining there.

The next day, we headed to Montreal, but before we left, we just had to stop by for another bite of this incredible shawarma. That delicious flavor had us hooked!”
