Tried Ethiopian food for the first time here and it was amazing! We ordered the Habesha platter with the lamb curry on the side, and every dish was delicious and it was the perfect way to sample a variety of flavors in smaller portions. There was more than enough injera to enjoy with all the curries, which we really appreciated. The service was excellent; the lady who helped us was very kind and welcoming. We had no trouble getting a table, and the service was quick and efficient. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Deliciously flavoured Ethiopian food, modest prices, friendly service, and a cozy, relaxed atmosphere. What could be better on a cold Ottawa winter day!

A gentle warning if you’ve never had good Ethiopian food… There is a definite risk of becoming addicted (speaking from experience 🙂

We ordered two veggie platters. The injera was warm, and the platter came with about five sides plus a salad with dressing in the center. Everything was decent—you could definitely try it once for the experience of the cuisine.

Service was a bit slow, likely because we arrived early around 11:30 a.m. The place feels a little dated, and the benches could use a refresh.

We got 2 veg platter. The injira was warm. There were about 5 sides and a salad with dressing in the middle. It was fine. You could try once for the experience of the cuisine.

The service was a bit slow as it was early around 11.30 am. The place is bit dated, they may need a refresh of the benches.

It is on the bus line and quite accessible, and next to Tim’s.

Went with a friend after reading other reviews, and we were not disappointed with the food.

We both had the Habesha platter, which is a combination of 8 different beef and lentils stews served on a large injera. The food was really good and flavorful, especially the green lentils (in my opinion). The portions were very generous and reasonably priced (this is a very rare commodity nowadays, so thank you to the owner for that; it’s most appreciated).

This is a place where you eat with your hands, and the injera was perfectly spongy; which makes it ideal for soaking up the sauces.

I would not hesitate to go back and recommend it to my friends.
