Zagloul Halal Grill & Broast

When I was hungry and driving down the street, I caught a whiff of an incredibly enticing aroma of grilled meat. I immediately parked the car and followed the scent, which led me to this hidden gem of a restaurant.
The owner was exceptionally warm and hospitable, recommending the Mixed Shami Plate.
Both the chicken and beef skewers were grilled fresh on the spot.
The salad was crisp and fresh.
The vinaigrette dressing was outstanding.
The hummus was exactly to my liking—thick, creamy, and richly flavorful.
There was a spicy sauce drizzled over the rice that was particularly delicious.
The owner kindly offered me a complimentary Baba Ghanouj. I had previously only tried canned versions, which I did not care for, but his homemade preparation was truly excellent.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
It has already been added to my list of regular dining spots.

Ordered for takeout a few days ago. Great quality to cost value. Loved the bread and all five skewers (except the meat koobida, it was dry). The owner Mohammad was a great guy, really enjoyed speaking to him. Next time I’m in Ottawa, I will definitely be grabbing more of the filet mignon and chicken skewers.

The buffet at my wedding was more than WOW! Everything was so delicious that by the end, there was nothing left ,every single dish was gone! The fish was perfectly cooked, the chicken disappeared in no time, and the starters were just amazing. And that cheesecake… wow wow! Our guests couldn’t stop talking about it. Thank you for making our day unforgettable . I 100% recommend you! 😍

Amazing experience! This is honestly one of the best halal broast spots I’ve tried. When I called to place my order, I asked if they could replace the wings with other pieces, and they agreed immediately — something many other restaurants refuse to do based on my past experiences.

The food was extremely fresh and the portions were generous: 15 pieces of chicken, fries, rice, salad, and 4 fresh naan breads, plus extra sauces. Everything tasted great and was packaged with care.

Highly recommended — great service, great quality, and definitely a place I’ll order from again!

The food is delicious and amazing. I try different platers every times and can’t believe how good it is. The cook is the owner and he is a fantastic cook, he surpass any other chef’s as he care about satifaction. You can tell he like cooking and is proud about the meals he dose and the way he offer it. He even explain the differant platers and he got a amazing sence of humour and friendship. I feel like i am part of is familly as he know how to serve like a master. I come from Kanata to taste is platers, unbelievable how he can do it all to perfection. He knows his spices like no other cook trust me, try and you will recommend it to your friends and familly like i did and that’s exacly how i hear about Zagloul Halal Grill & Broast, my friend told me, hey lets go in town to my prefered place to eat in Ottawa.
