Wow, these guys put out a great product at a fair price. The smash burger hits all the marks – well-seasoned, deeply crusty, and lifted by that Smash Daddy sauce. But the fries steal the show. The Five Guys–style topper works, the Smash Seasoning is spot-on, and I’m still talking about how even that last fry stayed crispy.

It’s easily the best halal burger I’ve encountered in the city.
The side order of Naked Fries is non-negotiable. These hand-cut, double-fried potatoes are absolute perfection. They’re crispy, hot, and seasoned perfectly with their special blend. They’re the ideal companion to the rich, savoury burger, especially when dipped in that addictive, smoky Smash Daddy sauce.

Ordered here for the first time over DoorDash cause of the many great reviews and was unfortunately left very disappointed.

I ordered the Smash Daddy with an Extra Paddy. Unfortunately, the extra paddy was not included with my order. This was really disappointing as the burger itself, as it comes, was much smaller than I would have expected for the price. In addition, it was really greasy which was somewhat much. Finally, it looked fine, but not great.

DoorDash offered a refund for the paddy that was missed that was less than the cost of the paddy itself before taxes and fees lol (more of a DoorDash issue but I think it’s worth mentioning as mistakes are normal and do happen).

Overall, I think Umbrella Burger offers a much better product at the same price point. I’d maybe try this again to give it another shot, but it would be hard to top Umbrella Burger.

Been trying so many different smash burgers around the city and this tops all of them. Super juicy and delicious wow. 10/10 recommended!

We tried Smash Daddy on O’Connor Street, and it did not disappoint! The Smash Daddy burger was perfectly cooked with a crispy, flavorful smash patty, fresh toppings, and just the right amount of sauce. The fries were golden, crispy, and seasoned well—an excellent complement to the burger. The quality of ingredients and attention to detail in flavor really stood out. The service was friendly, and the overall experience was fantastic. Definitely a must-try for burger lovers in Ottawa!

One thing to note—there isn’t a lot of space to sit down, so if you come during a busy time, it’s best to grab your burger to go.
