Royal Rooster Shawarma

Royal Rooster is a great spot if you’re in the mood for something sweet. Their dessert menu is big and has a lot to choose from crepes, waffles, ice cream rolls, milkshakes, and juices. It honestly takes a minute to decide.
The crepes and waffles are the best part. They’re filled well and not skimpy at all. You can tell they don’t cheap out on toppings. The Biscoff, Nutella, and pistachio options are really good if you like rich desserts. The ice cream rolls are fresh , with lots of choices.
The place is clean, has a nice vibe, and the staff are friendly and patient while you’re deciding. Portions are big, so it feels worth what you pay.

There is no doubt that this restaurant serves the best Syrian food in Ottawa, never eat such great Shawarma, falafel and grill but here, no comparison by all means, a lot of restaurants taste good but this restaurant is very special, strongly advise everyone to visit it, on the same note, the team are extremely friendly and helpful, can’t mention them all but Hanaa & Marwa are superb, wonderful and Amazing and if you ever visit, ask Marwa to make your Dubai Style Creep, you won’t regret it ❤️ keep up the great work ..

The food was excellent — very well prepared, served hot, and absolutely delicious. Everything tasted amazing.
We ordered a family-sized mixed grill along with a burger meal, and the portions were generous and satisfying. For dessert, we tried the Dubai chocolate crepe, which was incredibly tasty. After the meal, we were also kindly offered complimentary tea, which was a very nice touch.
The service deserves 10 stars! Ms. Iman was extremely welcoming, always smiling, and constantly checking if we needed anything. She is very polite, respectful, and truly helpful.
What made our experience extra special is that when they found out it was my daughter’s birthday, they played a birthday song and sang for her. It was such a beautiful and thoughtful gesture.
The atmosphere was very comfortable, calm, and elegant. The whole family really enjoyed the time.

We’ve been here a couple of times and this place never disappoints! The shawarma, fries and sides are always fresh. And they are never stingy with the portions. I even ordered the shawarma platters for a corporate event at work and everyone loved it!

This time I came to enjoy a saj chicken shawerma meal and my meal was exactly as great as it always is. This is the only place I know in Ottawa that resembles the shawerma back home the most.

Thank you to the wonderful staff, including Iman especially for being so kind. She has that type of hospitality and smile that makes you remember a place. Thank you for the wonderful service and the tea. We will definitely be back to try other things on the menu, including desserts! See you soon!

During a recent trip to Ottawa, our group decided to skip hotel food and look for a good Middle Eastern option nearby. After a bit of research, we chose Royal Rooster Shawarma —and it turned out to be a great decision.

We ordered takeout, including the Saj Meal, the Mixed Family Platter, and a Shawarma Roll. The food was flavorful across the board. The chicken shawarma was especially good—tender, well-seasoned, and packed with fresh, nicely seasoned veggies. The Mixed Family Platter, listed for four people, was generous enough to comfortably serve five to six depending on appetite. The only small downside was that the meat shawarma was slightly on the drier side, which brings my overall rating to four stars instead of five. All the chicken dishes, though, were an easy five stars.

The ambience inside looked warm and inviting, and the staff were helpful with their recommendations while we ordered. Overall, we were very satisfied with our choice. If you’re visiting Ottawa or live there, this is a spot worth trying—and we’d happily return on our next trip.
