It’s surprisingly good. Especially for hidden gems like Randy’s Jerk Chicken frozen meals and Jamaican Parties. Also Charlie Chans egg rolls. (I think that’s what they’re called I can’t remember, but they are burnt end egg rolls like golden palace and made in Ottawa too! Bake them in the oven and they are 🔥 SO GOOD, trust! 10$ for 12. C’mon. That’s amazing.

I will not use their website to order anything for delivery again. They use DoorDash to send deliveries, but they do not take responsibility when the groceries are not delivered, or are delivered to a wrong location. I ordered some items for delivery, and at the time of delivery, I got an email that my groceries were delivered. I did not receive anything, so I called them to request a refund so I could order from somewhere else an move on with my day. After more than hour of back and forth, they told me the driver delivered the items to the wrong unit in my apartment and they could not refund me because there was proof of delivery and DoorDash was not approving of a refund. there was meat, yogurt and cream in that order, after sitting in a warm hallway for more than an hour, I do not feel comfortable using them. So I paid a fee and a tip for this experience. I will not repeat this mistake and I suggest folks use other services to get their groceries delivered if they need to.

I came in today, November 26th at around 5pm, after working a double shift. I wanted dinner from the hot table. When I arrived there was one un happy guy working and no food. Pieces of old and dry looking chicken legs and the old nasty thick chicken tenders that can double for a chicken parm patty. They had maccaronni and cheese as well. No fries, no wedge fries, no drum sticks, no crispy tenders, no potatoes, nothing.

I asked how long would it take for crispy tenders and wedge fries. He said he COULD throw some down but it would take 15 and 5 minutes. I said no, il take the old tenders and wait for the fries. A group of people formed, all waiting for wedge fries. He boxes up my tenders and puts the box next to the empty wedge fries container. At least 10 minutes go by and the guy finally brings wedge fries. Absolutely drenched in oil. I was so hungry, I was just waiting for him to bag the food and go. There was a couple behind me aslo waiting. Instead of helping the people who had been standing there for 10 minutes, he turns to a new lady and helps her. I gave up at that point. The food people have been waiting for is here, please serve it and then deal with new customers.

Its 5pm and no food. The employee looks like he would rather be anywhere else but there. Every interaction came with a sigh or a irritated look. No respect for the people who had been standing for a while. And walking like its a sunday stroll.

I spent my money at the Isabella Loblaws instead. Full table of food when I walked in. In and out in 3 minutes.

Everytime I come to this Independent it is negative. I think I will stop.

Really great grocery and even better knowing that it is independent and not owned by a huge conglomerate…i think.
Anyways they have all the things a super grocery has from a pharmacy and supplements section, fresh produce, packaged and frozen foods and more. They even have a bit of a mall feel worth a wine store and several grocery restaurant booths/ food stations inside.
A small Halloween section as well.
