So good! Banhmi bread is homemade, crispy and the sauce was amazing. Best banhmi I’ve had in Ottawa. The owner’s also super nice!

We really enjoyed our visit here! The food was delicious overall, the pho was especially comforting and full of flavor, and the banh mi was fresh and perfectly made. You can tell care goes into the dishes. The service was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. We will definitely be coming back!

I’m pretty picky when it comes to food from Vietnamese restaurants, so I rarely eat out because the flavors often don’t compare. But Mama Mai hit different.

I came the first time to support a new local business, and the second time because the food was genuinely that good—and the portions are huge. I’ll definitely be back again.

The best spot for Vietnamese cuisine in Ottawa, hands down! The owner and staff are the kindest people, and they serve the best banh mi and iced coffee!! I tried their bun rieu special this weekend and it takes me back to my childhood! I’ve been a fan of theirs since I discovered them back when they were in Bayshore, and will continue to recommend them to everyone!

Exceptional hospitality and delicious food.

The staff are truly THE most friendly and warm; they treat you like family, and are very accommodating. Food was excellent, and the bánh mì is unrivalled; the bread is soft but has the perfect crisp on the outside, the classic bánh mì meats and paté are packed with flavor, but the crowning feature is the spicy mayo. So. Good.

Pho was delicious with tender beef and flavorful broth. Impressed by the quality ingredients and attention to detail, plate of fresh herbs looked like they’ve just been picked from the garden. Super friendly staff and despite first week of opening, very attentive.
Told friends about the great experience. They went the next day and were even more impressed by their weekend chef specials.
