JUMAK KOREAN KITCHEN AND PUB – 주막오타와 한식당_치킨

I was in Ottawa for a day and decided to try this restaurant(I really wanted to try Korean food after watching Culinary Wars on Netflix lol)

I went in for lunch, so it was empty. I didn’t have to wait for a table. I absolutely enjoyed everything. Especially the Jeyuk deopbap. The pork was tasty.
The restaurant itself was very clean, nice music playing in the background (not loud). And I had the nicest lady as waitress, checking to ensure I was ok and enjoying everything the whole time.

The Half/Half fried chicken was fresh and did not smell like used frying oil at all. But unlike other Korean restaurants, it didn’t come with rice or any sides for free. We ordered cucumber kimchi for 2.5$ coz we thought the refill will be for free but it wasn’t!!

The entrance of the restaurant is very messy, filled with chairs that aren’t in order and random stuff. Something you don’t like to see first when you walk in a new place.

Cane here for the first time tonight with my husband and two friends. Our server was lovely and really made the experience. She was super attentive with a relaxed energy. The prices are fair for the portions and the food was hot, fresh and really really good. The restaurant was comfortably quiet despite being packed, which I appreciate. Will be back! Totaly unrelated but the Mumin spoon made me really happy.

We came for lunch and it was fantastic!
We had seafood sundubu, seafood pancake, and galbi. All was great!

I tried seafood pancake at other spots but this is the best. No skimming. There was a lot of seafood!!

Galbi was good too! A bit pricey compared to other Korean restos but if a steak is worth $40, galbi should be the same.

No greasy, very clean and light flavour! Not really spicy but it’s okay…

Very authentic Korean restaurant with a diverse menu — unlike most other Korean restaurants in Ottawa. I highly recommend the samgyetang and chicken gizzard dishes; they were sooo good! They also have soju cocktails, and I really liked the strawberry one. Server was nice and they have a cozy vibe! All banchab(free side) are good as well. Rice is black rice.. I love black rice than white one and it is healthier as well. Must try!

First visit tonight and I really enjoyed the ambience. Quiet, cozy, and welcoming since we came about an hour before closing so it wasn’t busy. The restaurant is clean and tidy, which made the experience even more pleasant. Service was attentive, though with only a few tables it’s hard to fully judge. Still, everything we needed was taken care of.

The food was fresh, portions were generous, and prices felt fair. I especially appreciated that their pancake wasn’t overly oily like you often find elsewhere. Dishes leaned on the milder side which made it easy to enjoy everything. The kimchi was a little salty, but the pickled radish was a nice balance. Big plus: they serve Asahi draft, which you don’t see everywhere.

One small miss was the sundubu being accidentally left off our order, but no big deal, just an excuse to come back and try it next time along with the Kalbi. Seating was comfortable, and I loved the individual wireless table lamps at each table which added a nice touch.

Overall, a great first experience and I would definitely return to explore more of the menu.
