Island Grill

My company orders from Island Grill almost every week and the food and service are amazing! The Chef brings us a different variety of food each week, and we can always count on it being delicious.

Since I have left Toronto. I haven’t found my favorite dishes available until I found Island Grill. The Goat Roti was flavorful and tender the Curry Chicken Roti had bite. Our favorite so far is the Oxtail, rice and peas. We will return again. Hopefully chef will visit Nova Scotia. We would love to see you.

Curry chicken roti extra spicy was such a joy to eat! The hot sauce lingered, but not in a way that is uncomfortable. Decent filling of chicken, chickpeas, and potatoes. Nice roti shell that absorbs the flavour of the curry. It’s not a dine in place, but they do have an enticing assortment of seasonings and hot sauce for purchase.

Tried this place for the first time and was not disappointed! The jerk chicken was delicious, would have preferred more sauce but that’s fine. Curry goat was even more delicious than the chicken, it came with a good amount of curry. The meat was cooked and seasoned well. Both came with coleslaw and a side of plantain. The tropical salad with mango dressing also tasted good; bonus points for the grated fresh coconut on top! Their prices are fair too for the quantity and I’d say we got 1.5 meals out of the food.

Had the oxtail, first time ever trying oxtail. Needless to say but it won’t be my last! Absolutely delicious. The meat was super flavorful and melted in my mouth. The sauce was rich and had deep beef flavor. The rice was delicious and full of beans. The plantains were done perfectly. Lastly the coleslaw was a nice compliment with a lovely black pepper taste. Super friendly service in a small restaurant. Highly recommend
