We had high expectations for this restaurant since itβs been around for a long time, and with such an extensive menu, we assumed the experience would match its reputation.
Unfortunately, it didnβt quite meet our expectations. The portion-to-value ratio felt offβpaying $19 for a large pho, we expected more than one meatball, which was disappointingly cut into four pieces. The broth itself was cloudy and oilier than what weβre used to, with a slightly funky odor, as if the meat wasnβt fresh. We had to throw it out.
The calamari batter was overly thick, masking the seafood flavor. While the chicken wings had decent flavor, their texture suggested they might have been boiled before being sauced, which wasnβt appealing. The quail was the most disappointing dishβover-fried and stale, with a jerky-like texture. The shrimp fried rice was dry, basic, and lacked sufficient shrimp. There was a total of 2 shrimps, cut into 3 pieces each – not worth $21.
Our bill came to nearly $200, and frankly, weβve had much better quality for far less at other restaurants in Barrhaven. This isnβt meant to be rudeβjust an honest reflection of our experience.
