We ordered chicken shawarmas expecting a standout meal based on hype, but were let down. The bread was overly hard and chewy, making it tough to eat without pulling strings from our mouths. The chicken tasted old and not fresh, with overall flavors falling flat—none of us could finish ours. In fact kids didn’t take more than two bites.

Service added to the frustration: the girl at the counter seemed unwelcoming and didn’t want us watching the preparation, which felt off for a casual spot.

For the price, it was a waste—hard to trust reviews these days. Skip if you’re after reliable shawarma in Ottawa

Tahini is a convenient and comfortable spot to dine in. Parking is hassle-free with street parking available, along with plenty of additional spots behind the building. The seating space is decent and works well for a relaxed dine-in experience. The restaurant is also accessibility-friendly, making it easy and welcoming for everyone to visit.

Our favorite is the chicken bowl and the chicken wrap.

One of the only places that stays open at 3am in the morning, the food is delicious and never lets me down. Definitely worth going to if you need a cheap and yummy place late at night that isn’t a Mcdonalds!

The food was delicious and well-prepared, with fair portion sizes that left us satisfied but not overstuffed. The wrap stood out thanks to the bread’s texture—soft, fresh, and perfect for holding everything together. We also tried the messy poutine, which lived up to its name in the best way: lots of flavours packed into every bite, rich and indulgent.

A great spot if you’re craving bold, flavourful Middle Eastern-inspired eats. With good food, solid portions, and standout textures, we’ll definitely be back.
