Great place! Zero snubness. The server is super fun. The coffee is included in the breakfast. Breakfast served until 2pm. Food is served hot and fresh incredibly fast.

Went in today and got the combination platter. It was SO delicious and amazingly priced. My server was so friendly, had a great attitude, and made sure to check in and keep the coffee topped up! The chef clearly knows his stuff too because I can’t get over how tasty everything on my plate was.

I will definitely be visiting again the next time I’m in Ottawa. Thanks!

Wanna go to a place where nothing is cooked from frozen and the hamburger+fries is the same price a big mac meal? This is it. Breakfast or lunch it’s all cooked fresh. Hamburger patties made fresh every day, same with the fries. Just like your mom made them.
Excellent service and the place was clean. Food was so good I was only able to capture a picture after I’d already eaten some of it…
Nice little Jem in Ottawa

This is an old school local family run diner, as expected they care about service and food, 2 key qualities that tells the public this is a good restaurant. Found this place via Google and it did not disappoint. Ordered the Combination and Steele’s platter, bagel and cream cheese as well as pancakes for the kids which they kindly split up into 4 smaller ones. This place was full all the time, once a table opened up, it was quickly cleaned and occupied. Sausage is cut into halves, bacon is cooked crisp without burning them, eggs to order and standard toast options. The pancakes were not those generic ones, cooked perfectly, golden brown color and the maple syrup gave it that authentic Canadian flavour. The bagel came with a nice healthy serving of cream cheese. The servers were the daughters of the owners and they were great, you can tell they cared and were attentive. The place is a bit dated but gives that old school feel. Looking for a breakfast diner located in lower Ottawa area that is affordable, mark this place down.

We were on our way to Costco and wanted some brunch so we checked out this restaurant. We were so very happy with our meals! My husband had a meal with sausage eggs toast and ham and I had the same but with French toast instead of ham. The amount of food is awesome and the potatoes are so delicious, you can tell everything is fresh and so yummy. The coffee was super good too I had to have a second cup. This is a family run restaurant and the service reflects that, really nice and welcoming and the owner even said hello to us even though it was our first time there, it made us feel really welcome. There were many regulars there as well. I would really recommend this place, it’s super affordable, absolutely delicious, and worth the trip. We will be back!
