Paninaro (Centretown)

i loved all of it so much. the guy working there was so sweet & informative! the place is so cute & they had a professional graffiti mural artist do a wall for them which is super cool. sandwiches were priced well for the size of them and quality.

i got the Trartufo Trance, subbed out pecorino for Fiore di Latte. it was so good. bread was fresh, airy and had the perfect crunch. delicious sweet & savory sandwich. the size of my head lol. the sandwhiches are all humongous!! My partner got the Prosciutto Piazza sandwich. he said it was all delicious but not enough seasoning. i on the other hand disagree, the main ‘flavor’ is just fresh, doesn’t need anything fancy or new or over the top. i think they’re perfect! ❤️

they also have delicious olives & cannolis!!!

This is hands-down the best sandwich shop in the city! With its fresh ingredients and impressive portions, eating at Paninaro feels like walking through a portal directly to Italy. The staff is friendly, the food is delicious, and I would (and have) absolutely recommend this to all of my friends and family!

Also, the guy in the back making the sandwiches is a real cutie 😉

I tried the Milano Mingle and it was delicious! The toppings were incredibly fresh. While the focaccia was good, it could have used a bit more flavour and it was a bit heavy. I would definitely recommend if you have ever been to Florence and miss their florentine sandwiches. And if you haven’t been to Florence, this might be the closest thing you can get in Ottawa!

O M G!!! One of the best Italian sandwiches in town—seriously, wow! I tried the classic Moda Mortadella and it was absolutely fantastic. The pistachio cream is spot-on, rich but never overpowering. And the cannoli? Completely to die for! I already can’t wait to go back!

What a gem in the downtown core! I’ve been to Florence and these sandwiches definitively stand up to the Italian standard I’ve had. Everything is so fresh and the staff is super nice too! The bread is like no other. I had the porchetta and my colleague got the mortadella and we split the cannolis. The quality and the portion is definitely worth it, I would even pay more! You can’t get anything like this anywhere else. 1 sandwich is enough for 2 meals. We split the 2 sandwiches so we could taste the different varieties. The cannoli is so fresh, creamy and crunchy. Ive already been 3 times in 2 weeks! Can’t wait to go back next week!
