Gorditas La Mexican

I’ve been to Mexico several times and this place immediately reminded me of one specific memory that’s stayed with me. Eating street tacos in Mexico made by a Tía and her granddaughter. We could barely communicate but the love she put into those tacos said everything. They were an absolute flavor bomb and I still think about that experience often. I never thought I’d relive that feeling in Ottawa but Gorditas La Mexican did exactly that. The food is incredibly authentic and delicious and you can truly feel the love in every bite. These are hands down the best tacos and gorditas I’ve had in all of Ottawa. The price is very reasonable too! I’m bringing my friends and family here next time!

We have been looking forward to trying Gorditas for a while now! We came on a cold snowy evening and it was a lovely oasis to forget about the winter for a bit! We tried tacos, pozole verde soup, the choriqueso, tinga and chicharron gorditas
and had horchata and jamaica to drink.
The food came with a lovely spread of toppings, nothing was overly spicy but a few options to add more heat if you like and the variety of flavours was delightful! We came away warmed and comfortably full and looking forward to coming back again.

Very very very good! The staff was very nice and the food was delicious, we ordered a cochinita taco and 2 gorditas (choriqueso and tinga)! I asked for an horchata but it ran out and they didn’t charge me for it because the glass didn’t get filled completely.

We are from Mexico and this place reminds us of home! My husband and I will definitely come back. I already told my cousins and friends about this place.

Best tacos in the city!! Amazing texture, amazing flavour, tens across the board! Really lovely authentic Mexican food here, would definitely reccomend! Only took 1 picture because it got devoured too quickly, and we had to get extra tacos after too! Good prices for the quality of food, and bonus points for the music 🙌🙌

Stumbled across this little gem and stopped in to try it after reading the reviews. Everything about it is perfect. From the moment you step in the front door to your last bite, you’re instantly transported to a little slice of Mexico. The food was absolutely amazing and the other reviews do not exaggerate- it’s the best Mexican food we’ve tasted outside of actually being there. We tried a number of Gorditas and each one was superb and each bite brought back memories of our times spent exploring the beautiful culinary landscape of Mexico. We will absolutely be coming back here and are thrilled to have a place like this in Ottawa.
