Farm Boy

This is a conveniently located grocery store in Centretown.
It seems that restocking doesn’t really keep up with demand, as I frequently come here to find numerous items out of stock, sometimes for several consecutive visits. This is especially true in the dairy and dairy-alternatives area, where the yogurt section is often left bare-bones for days, soy milk is gone for a week, and certain brands of eggs and butter remain unstocked.
Selection seems pretty good, prices are fine but of course they don’t offer many cheap options here. The Farm Boy private label items tend to be pretty decent.
It’s not a bad place to regularly shop, but has a somewhat limited or expensive selection, which can lead to having to stop at a second store for more items. Especially if there are things out of stock, which is often the case.
On the bright side, the cashiers have always been plenty friendly and efficient.

Got the smoked meat on rye today for lunch from the hot prepared foods section. So great! Massive sandwich and the meat just falls apart. Bread is lovely and fresh. Great lunch option for 10 dollars!
I got the hand held turkey club today. Super good! Loads of turkey! Bacon and cheese lettuce and tomato! Yum! I would definitely get this again. The turkey club wrap is also so good. A lot of turkey! Crunchy bacon.
Got the deli trio wrap today. Made today. Yum! 😋 worth the money!
The falafel wrap is yummy! They use their own hummus and tabouli. I recommend getting it the same day it’s made as it’s a bit wet. Super tasty!

Bought a bag of lemons and one was rotten. I complained to the manager, but she just said “okay” like it wasn’t a big deal, didn’t apologize, and didn’t cover the cost. Poor customer service and quality control.

It’s a busy place as it’s downtown and lots of people come here for lunch with their hot bar and salads bar.
It’s great to pick up groceries also. It’s clean and organized and also very fast at the check outs. Don’t get discouraged by the long line up’s as they go very quickly. This is a gem of a place.

Great choice of fresh vegetables and fruits, dairy, spices, oils, condiments, meat, bakery, deli and almost everything you need to make meal. A bit on the pricey side but the products are fresh. I specifically liked the organic milk in 5 delicious varieties and packaged in returnable glass bottles. The salad, soup and entree bars are just amazing. I appreciate the fact that it’s culturally diverse catering to Indian, South Asian cuisine as well. The store is impeccably kept and well stocked. Staff are helpful and courteous. Check out is a breeze. Steps away from my stay in downtown, the location is super convenient. Oh did I forget, they even have a small, cosy space to dine in.
