Mermaid’s Seafood Restaurant

This is a family-run restaurant: husband takes phone orders and looks after eat-in customers like us with warm, gracious and expert service, wife does the food preparation. We ordered three different combo plates for lunch. The fish fillets in all three were superb: gently seasoned and perfectly cooked. Two of us had french fries, the finest textured we have ever had: soft but firm in the middle, with light browning on the outside. Salads were excellent too. We’ll be back, often.

Delicious middle eastern flavored fish freshly prepared. The grilled tilapia was excellent. Don’t let the empty restaurant steer you away. The food is really good and reasonably priced.

I really loved the grilled shrimp, and the tabbouleh.

Prices are very good compared with the food and service offered.

I ordered the salmon combo with salad and fries. The salmon was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The salad was delicious too! I usually don’t like the side salads, but this was delicious. My husband got the smelt, which was good too. Would recommend.

Honestly, I wasn’t very impressed. The octopus plate really wasn’t worth the price. There was barely any octopus, and the taste wasn’t great. $32 feels too expensive for what you get. The sides, however, were good; I enjoyed the rice and potatoes. The mussels were decent, flavorful and large, but still felt like they were missing something. I would recommend the place overall, but don’t set your expectations too high, as you might leave a little disappointed
