Smash Daddy – Little Italy

I don’t usually write reviews, but I wanted to share my experience as it may not be the same as everyone else’s. I find their burgers great, but the customer service and lack of accountability are disappointing. My order did not come as requested; I was missing one Wagyu burger, which costs close to $30, and was sent fries instead. The fries were inedible for me as I eat strictly halal, and they are fried in beef tallow. I reached out to them on Instagram, and after a week, their response was that because they used a big bag, the burger should have been included, effectively insinuating that I was lying.

It’s unfortunate that this is the level of customer service provided by this establishment.

It seems we’ve had very different versions of this conversation. I think saying you went “above and beyond” is quite an overstatement. Based on your response, it’s clear there’s a lack of understanding of proper customer service.

BEST SMASH BURGER OF MY LIFE. I got triple smash burger and 2 hours later went right back to get another because it was so god damn good. If you have not tried this place I feel bad. Cuz this the spot that hits just right anytime of the day! Yesir!

Heard about this place for a while but finally tried it today — and honestly, I’ve been missing out! Best smashed burger I’ve ever had. I used to work at a burger place, so I know what a good burger is, and these guys nailed it.

This place was amazing! The fries, oh the fries! The flavour was spot on for our family. My kids are picky, and they wanted more.

The smash burgers were flavourful as well, I am not disappointed one but with this place. The sauce they use was delicious

So we ended up at Smash Daddy because the Filipino restaurant we originally planned to try was closed.

I’ve been craving a good smashed burger, and this one hit most of the right notes. The beef quality was on point. You could really taste that proper beefy flavor I always look for. The edges had that nice burnt end crisp, and it wasn’t drowned in sauce, which I really liked. Caramelized onions were sweet, pickles added a nice tang, overall just a classic, good ol’ burger.

We also tried their fried shrimp, and honestly, that tsatziki dipping sauce carried it. Super fresh and creamy. Only downside? The fries were a bit too salty for me.

📍 Location: We were already in Preston, so it was convenient. Not the best spot to sit outside in this summer heat, but I can see it being perfect come fall.

👨‍🍳 Service: Quick and super friendly staff. They made the experience even better.

This place has the best smash burger’s in Ottawa.
The only burger I’ve had that was better than their smash burger is their Wagu smash burger. It is amazing.
Oh yeah and their, fries, cooked in beef tallow. Over the top good.
Don’t forget a side of their smash sauce on the side.
In the summer they have some outside seating but in the winter I’m good with eating it my car.
A must try in Ottawa.
