Pili Pili Charcoal Grilled Chicken

Absolutely hands down the best chicken restaurant anywhere I’ve ever been to. I’d normally get the “whisper” level of spice and frankly that’s all I ever wanted because it lets you still taste the meat. The sides were fine, no complaints. But you go to Pili Pili for the chicken.

Picked up the order and was very disappointed. The chicken was old, reheated, and burnt. When I raised the issue, the staff were rude and did not care to give a proper response. Poor food quality and customer service. Would not recommend.

The food was quick, the staff was friendly, and the food was good. I like that they give you a variety of options for your sides and they let you pick mild, medium, or spicy for your chicken.

I’ve eaten their all day lunch special twice now, and I am certain I will be back again.

The aromatic spicy grilled chicken was full of flavour. This is my first time trying plantain (fried sweet banana) and it was an amazing! Friendly staff helped us choose our meal, and the clean self dine-in seating made it comfortable. Portions are so generous that I had to take half home.

This place was quite a surprise but thank God for google. I was hungry and they fed me! The charcoal grilled chicken was delicious and the Bisap was refreshing. 10/10 would recommend.

I was having a dilemma whether to buy the combo with three sides or order them separately. The staff was super nice and answered all my questions.

I would recommend you guys to buy the chicken separately and choose sides depending on your preference, whether small or large. We got a whole chicken for $25 plus sides (a large rice for $8.50 and a small plantain for $4.75), total $38.25 before taxes. I decided to order separate because judging by the container for the combo (three sides) and previous customer photos, I do not think it would fill too much.

3/5 It was not sweet for my liking, it needed more ripe.

Overall, I will definitely recommend you guys to try this.
I will come back next time we are in Ottawa.
