Food was very good, help from the owner was also great but service from the waitresses was pretty bad. She brought the food and that was it. No follow-up mid way. All the time I was there she was at the counter texting away on Facebook. The whole time. I had to say excuse me to get her attention for container to take our leftovers with us. That’s bad.

Ordered on doordash and the food was very surprising. Rice (staple in Indian cuisine was dry and inedible), naan bread?store bought and super disappointing), tikka masala (nothing like tikka masala) as I’ve had all over the world, butter chicken (super dry and disappointing, flavor was not expected) samosas were dry and store bought. Certainly not going to order from here again, will not recommend and this 4.5 star rating is false. I have eaten Indian food for 30 years and this had to be one of the sadest experiences of my life.

About a month ago we ordered an aloo gobi dish, the cost was $19.95. It came with rice but we ordered extra which is 5.75. I asked how much the samosas were and was informed two large veggie samosas plus sauce is $6. The samosas are good and spicy but small. The pakoras were probably the best at 7.50 for 6 pieces plus sauce. Even though we got take out we tipped 15%. While picking up, a woman came in and got the $22 buffet takeout. I asked how much it would cost for kids and was informed kids 6 and under are free. Above that up to I think age 12 is half price. I made a mental note to make our next visit before my son turns 7 in 3 months. The website does not mention any buffet. He stated lunch buffets are only thursdays and fridays. Dinner buffets are thursdays, fridays, and Saturdays and has more food including goat. I think he said $33 or so for the dinner. We don’t eat goat and the lunch buffet has plenty of food so we are more interested in that. Just had to make sure it was on a PD day when my son doesn’t have school.

Today we came in for the buffet and took my 6 year old son. I had called to ask what time the buffet ends and was told 2 pm. I stated it would be take out as my husband has work and even though he works from home 2 days of the week. He asked me what we wanted to eat which I thought was a little odd but I stated the adults probably a bit of everything and the kid butter chicken and rice but unsure as he hasn’t seen anything else. I stated we would be there by 1 pm. We got there at 12:57 pm. There were 2 guys leaving the store and just us. I stated again the takeout buffet is for 2 adults and the (free) child. My husband noticed my son got charged the half price which is for older children. When I mentioned to the guy (same guy as last time) he said they don’t actually do takeout buffet. I mentioned the woman from the last visit got takeout buffet. He stated that he was only an employee. So we just didn’t leave a tip. Also don’t bother saying thank you, we each were polite and said thank you each time but each time they don’t say anything. If we knew my son would have been charged the $11.50 we would have just filled up our own plates more. He only wanted the butter chicken, meatballs and rice. We would probably still be there finishing our 3rd or 4th full plates since buffets are “all you can eat”.

Anyway these are the items at the buffet:

Butter chicken, chicken curry, beef kofta (meatballs), chicken tikka, chana masala, saag paneer, aloo gobi, rice. There were also eggrolls and samosas. 3 types of sauces.

I didn’t care for any of the chicken dishes but I like the aloo gobi and beef meatballs/kofta.

I like to share my great experience that I had this evening, in one of the best Indian kitchens in Gatineau/Ottawa.
I wasn’t sure what to order, so the restaurant owner gave me this beautiful plate. So I tried all kinds of dishes that I liked to try.
The best was Tikka Massala, so delicious
And the rice was so delicious. I also liked the butter chicken. We also had Fresh Naan and Mango Lassi πŸ₯ from the owner to complete our table.
You can bring your own wine or beer.
he gave me 10 plates to take my leftover food.
