La Brioche Pastry & Bakery (Glebe)

Every time there is an occasion I must have Black Forest Cake.
If not …the Fruit Torte. Lastly the Cheese cake.
These traditional European classics are truly reputable cakes and are eaten regularly in my family which is Prussian German and my family also came from the Black Forest in Germany.

Truly I recommend this amazing bakery also for Middle Eastern desserts which are also our friendly family relations.
We are so happy that Ottawa has such a graceful authentic and magnificent bakery in the Glebe that I nominate it as the best bakery in Ottawa.

Honestly THE best Baklava i have ever had, the staff is sweet and kind and respectfull, its clean and the pastries are very fresh, the philo dough is crispy soft melts in your mouth, i was here the day before and i came back the next day, this goes to show you how amazing it is, i love my desserts,
The prices are amazing too, go support this local business in the glebe!!! The best in ottawa!!

It was more than awful 😢. We ordered two pieces of cake and couldn’t finish them, with every bite the feeling was worse. The desserts were baked at least several days ago, stale, tasteless, margarine and sugar. It felt like you are chewing nothing but something very sugary. I asked before ordering if they use butter and cream. The answer was YES.
Unfortunately, it was a mistake to visit this place, rip off. Why is the rating 4+???

One of the bests confectionaries in the town! The sweets and desserts has great qualities, and store has friendly staff! I usually come to this store at weekend to buy for my guests and normally order Kunafa sandwiches to go and baklava. I also recommend rolls and cheesecakes! First time, I wasn’t sure what to order but employees were kind enough to offer me sample tastes and that made my decision a lot easier. Now, this is a place that I often visit when I am in downtown area and not regret each time I order!

Stopped in with my husband and son for a few baklava, eclair and macaroons. The new shop (on Hunt club) was nicely put together. The lady behind the counter was really personable and super helpful. The desserts were really delicious and perfectly priced and they looked so amazing, beautifully created. Only negative would be that I think they could use more sitting area and perhaps some coffee choices. Highly recommend. We’ll be back again soon. 🙂
