Had a great time at Grey’s on Saturday. Our waiter Jacob was really perfect. He checked on us a couple of time. My partner had the double smash burger with sweet potato fries and I had the Buffalo chicken burger with a salad. It was delicious. The grapefruit mocktail was so refreshing. I would definitely go back! The restaurant is beautiful and really nice vibe.

Grey’s Social Eatery has that perfect mix of cool modern-vintage design and true Canadian comfort. Think warm wood, stylish touches, and a playlist that swings from Top 40 to rock, country, and those sing-alongs everyone secretly knows the words to. The vibe makes you want to settle in, stay late, and maybe belt out a chorus or two between bites.

We sampled every single app and can confirm: they’re not just snacks, they’re a lineup of winners. The honey butter chicken slider was small but mighty with its sweet-salty punch, while the truffle fries felt indulgent without going overboard. The cauliflower bites brought that crispy-crunchy satisfaction, and the gyoza (both beef and veggie) were pan-fried perfection. Seafood fans won’t be disappointed either — torpedo shrimp and calamari arrived hot, golden, and begging to be shared. And those breaded wings? Classic comfort done right.

Of course, Grey’s isn’t just about the food — it’s about the fun. Their happy hour (and half-price wine bottles on Wednesdays 🍷) makes it easy to turn “just one drink” into a whole night out. DJs kick things up after dark, transforming this spot into an energy-packed social hub.

Grey’s feels like a home away from home — one where the food is tasty, the drinks flow, the staff are all smiles, and the playlist never misses. For the patriotic Canadian or anyone visiting Byward Market, this is the spot to eat, drink, and feel right at home.

Had an absolutely amazing dinner at Greys, the food, the vibes & the atmosphere are always great when I go there. 10/10 recommend!

I went in for a photoshoot also for my upcoming single & I just want to take a moment to thank Nick & the staff for being so accommodating. I really appreciate your flexibility & time. Thank you so so much! It was perfect! We will be back!

Every time I visit Greys Ottawa, I’m always greeted by the lovely bartender, Mariah, and she truly makes the experience unforgettable. She’s warm, welcoming, and has such a genuine way of connecting with guests you can tell she really enjoys what she does. Her attention to detail, friendly energy, and consistent service are a big reason why I keep coming back.

On my most recent visit, I was also served by Nick, who was just as attentive and professional. Together, they made sure everything was perfect ,from the drinks to the timing of the food and the overall atmosphere. It’s rare to find staff who care this much about their guests, but Mariah and Nick absolutely do.

Greys has always been one of my favourite spots in Ottawa, and the amazing service from people like Mariah and Nick makes it even better. Highly recommend stopping by, you’ll always feel welcome here!

Off to a good start
We came to Grey’s during the soft launch to check the place out and celebrate a birthday. The head serving staff let us know that they were still working on getting this things right and asked us for feedback (brutal or otherwise). They noted our suggestions and thanked us for the feedback which was very refreshing.

I have to say that I am pretty excited for how the space is shaping up. Not all the furniture is in place and the timing was a bit off on a few things but everyone had the right attitude and wanted to make our experience great. The waiting staff was very attentive and they even gave us a free shot to celebrate our friend’s birthday.

There was a good selection of veggie options, a lot of cocktails to choose from, and some really engaging decor. And I have to say the prices were better than I expected.

And of course, the first thing I look for in a new restaurant is the washroom (if they take care of their washroom then they take care of the other stuff you can’t see). I am happy to report that they were very nice.

I will certainly come back this summer to check out the rest of the space and menu.
