Fishys Original Jerk

Ordered lunch for our staff and I want to start by saying the food itself was incredible — absolutely delicious and full of flavour.
Unfortunately, the service side of the experience was frustrating. The online ordering system on their website appears not to be working, but there’s no notice indicating that. My credit card was charged $65 and I later received an email stating I would be refunded. I was told it can take 48+ hours to process, which means I now have to monitor my statement to ensure the refund goes through.
When I called to ask why my order hadn’t processed, I was told very matter-of-factly that the system wasn’t working. Since this isn’t mentioned anywhere on the website, there was no way for me to know. While placing the order by phone, it was also difficult to hear the staff member. I was told “20 minutes,” and the call ended without anyone taking my name or number.
When I arrived for pickup, I was excited because everything smelled amazing — and it truly was. The only other surprise was that the “rice and peas” turned out to be rice and beans. Some staff members would have chosen white rice or fries had that been clarified.
I highly recommend the food. I just wish the service experience had matched the quality of the meal. I’m hopeful that next time will be smoother.

We tried fishy’s for the first time and oh my goodness! So Impressed! We had the chicken jerk and the curried goat. Everything was fresh and moist and perfectly cooked and seasoned. The jerk wasn’t too spicy which was nice and SO flavourful. They serve the chicken with this delicious brown sauce – I could put that on everything. The plantains were perfect. The rice was delicious. Their side veggies were yummy too! I would recommend to anyone and will definitely be adding this to the rotation.

I have been here a few times and I have always had a pleasant experience. The space is always clean and welcoming. The food is very good – closest I have gotten to getting that authentic Jamaican taste outside of Jamaica. They also have very good portion sizes.

So far I have tried the oxtail, jerk chicken, curried goat and brown stew chicken, and I can recommend them all. Their chicken patty was also very good – it had nice chunks of meat and was well seasoned.

Absolutely amazing! This Jamaican restaurant is hands down the best in the city. The curried goat is unbelievably tender and full of rich, authentic flavor, and the kingfish is cooked to perfection every single time. You can taste the love and tradition in every bite. Friendly service, great vibes, and food that keeps you coming back. Highly recommend!

The oxtails were sooo good and super tender and the curry chicken was so flavorful and yummy! The BEST beef patty I’ve ever had with the flakiest crust! Definitely worth the drive over!
