Detola’s Kitchen – Nigerian/African Cuisine

Ordered white soup and it seemed like water & pepper was added to remnants – you could see through it. I’ve had similar experience with other products in it past and overlooked it, but couldn’t let this slide without a review.

I went there with my friend yesterday to try some Nigerian food. We ordered a few things from the menu but they were all delicious and properly spiced. Will definitely come back here again and recommend the restaurant to anyone who wants to taste Nigerian food!

Had an absolute good time here trying out the Nigerian food. Spicy lovers, come on down. If you’re opting for the combo, the sides are on the smaller portion. So if you want more, should order them separately.

First time trying Nigerian food and it was really good! Jollof rice and the meats were seasoned perfectly and the spice kick was just right. My favourite though was the plantains which were sweet and not greasy. The egusi and fufu combo were yum too.
Overall – friendly staff, clean and spacious restaurant and reasonably priced. The only downside is it took around one hr and 10 mins for our food to be prepared and served. The homemade quality and taste of the food made up for it, but still quite a long wait time. Great experience otherwise. Will be coming back!

Flavourful and delicious food, just a bit too oily for my liking. Jollof rice had a good fiery kick. Beef was lean and tender. Chicken was tasty. Plantains were soft and sweet. Coleslaw was nice and tangy. Restaurant looks new. It’s brightly lit and clean. Service was pleasant. I got the Ajebutter Chicken and Beef Combos. Looking forward to trying other items, like the Moi Moi.
