Chopp Chop Thai Street Food

If you’re in Orléans on the Ottawa side and craving truly authentic Thai food, this place is an absolute must-try.

We went for dinner and can honestly say it’s the best Thai restaurant we’ve had in the area so far. The space is small and cozy — which we personally loved — but if you’re someone who goes out mainly for a fancy or highly styled ambience, this might not be that kind of spot. It’s simple and intimate. That said, food-wise, it’s absolutely top-tier.

The quality of the food was incredible. Everything tasted fresh, flavourful, and genuinely authentic. We eat Thai cuisine a lot — and we mean a lot — so we don’t say this lightly. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared and full of real, vibrant flavours.

We ordered the Pad Thai, red curry, strawberry soda, and jasmine tea — and each one was excellent. The Pad Thai had the perfect balance of sweetness and tang, the red curry was rich and comforting, and even the drinks complemented the meal beautifully.

We also ordered wonton soup, but when it arrived, we realized it was made with pork — completely our mistake, as we forgot to mention that we don’t eat pork. The staff handled it so kindly and quickly changed our order to Tom Yum soup instead. And wow — it was mouthwatering. Every spoonful was bursting with flavour. It ended up being one of the highlights of the evening.

From the service to the authenticity of the dishes, everything was impressive. We’re definitely going back — there are so many more items on the menu we’re excited to try.

If you’re thinking about trying it, go for it. You’ll leave happy — especially if great food is what matters most to you.

Hip little spot with good vibes and even better food. Merch is also very cool. I bought a t shirt immediately. Highly recommended!

Ordered delivery from here for the first time and I was so blown away. It was fantastic!

I got the yellow curry with potatoes and chicken, spicy with a side of plain rice. It’s delivered the heat, excellent level, and the flavours were fantastic. If even a drop of the curry was wasted, it would be a crime against humanity.

Partner ordered the beef pad Thai, medium heat. His only regret about ordering this is that he didn’t order the spicier level. Ingredients were obviously fresh, food was hot, and I was only allowed to steal a tiny bite before he ate it all.

Fried spring rolls were good, crispy and hot, but they let the main foods carry the heavy lifting for flavour.

I managed to grab a photo of the curry with rice between bites. A new favourite for this household!

We love this spot for epic thai food. Food is so good and always hits the spot. Our family including our kids love the fried chicken, fried wontons, wonton soup, beef pad thai, fried chicken rice and green chicken curry. We have ordered via Uber and ate inside the restaurant few times.

Great Thai street food! Authentic flavour combinations that will bring you back to Khaosan Road. This is a small place with only about 8 tables and was pretty busy when we went in about 6:30 on a Saturday. Lots of people were popping in to pickup orders to go as well. The Pad Thai, Pad See Ew and Green curry that we had were all great. I have the shrimp version of mine and they were plentiful, huge and not over cooked. I was going to add a picture but I ate it all too fast and practically liked the plate! Definitely a return trip in our future.
