Let’s talk about that amuse-bouche.

Small. Thoughtful. Beautifully plated. The kind of unexpected bite that immediately signals, “Okay, they know what they’re doing.”

It sets the tone for the entire evening — refined but playful. It’s a small detail, but it elevates the experience in a big way. It shows care. And I love a restaurant that pays attention to the little things.

If I could give 6 stars, I would. Impeccable service, exquisite & original food with great ingredients. For travelling foodies, this is the place to get a Montreal-style dining experience. Philippe and Justine were fantastic waiters, real pros who make the evening so enjoyable. Nicolas, the sommelier, really knows his stuff, and they have such an interesting selection of wines, amaros and whisky. Would strongly reccomend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👌🔥

We went for Capital city bites on a week night. The menu was a set course but a lot of the dishes were off the regular menu. Everything was outstanding. I never imagined cabbage could taste this good. I know they are a wine bar but their cocktails were fantastic as well. Everything we ate was delicious, the scallops, cretons, beef tartare, cabbage, bread and butter, the mushroom pasta and the beef short rib. Would 100% recommend. Service was amazing, our server was attentive, had great knowledge of the dishes, very pleasant to chat with. Its the perfect date night or celebration spot.

We had a wonderful first experience at Daphnée. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Eden provided exceptional service and went above and beyond to make our birthday celebration feel truly special.

We really enjoyed the whole experience here. The wait staff were very attentive. Our waitress was helpful and friendly, and our water was constantly refilled. The interior was cozy and stylish.

Our food was excellent. The Creton Croquettes were a standout – creamy, crispy, and so flavorful with dill and tiny pickled veg flowers. The sourdough bread was soft and had prominent sour flavor. The smoked peppers were unusual and a great mix of texture, the steak was a true medium rare, the cauliflower cabbage was charred, tender, and had a nice creamy sauce.

This place lives up to its price point. We enjoyed the experience and would return.

We were visiting Ottawa and we found this little place. Absolutely beautiful!
Food was delicious: we got the poached pear salad with an amazing cheese croquette! The sirloin and the tartare. Absolutely fantastic!
A special mention to the drinks: very well balanced and just amazing

Really cute interior! Service was fine, took about 10 minutes for the server to greet us and there wasn’t a hello how are you tonight my name is. Seemed like she had all the tables inside so that could be why. Food was good! The duck mortadella and the hay potatoes were the favourite. The olive oil cake was also really nice!!
