Bar Guapo

Rude main bartender for $20 cocktails.

Really disappointed in the direction this one favourite has gone. It has been the past three or four times coming in I’ve gotten blatantly rude service from the one main bartender (being the one with bleached blonde hair).

Highly dismissive and incredibly rude to myself and my 65 year old father who doesn’t get the opportunity to go out very often. This guy was insanely negative, embarrassed my dad for not knowing exactly what he wanted (in a place that is menu-less, and conversation/c vibe based, or at least it was?), and he got out a packet of ramen noodles and ate them one stool down from us on the bar.

What used to be a chill dim environment is now a bunch of neon lights, they don’t serve food, and he’ll throw on whatever 2010s electronic music to further kill the ambiance, and their basic bar stock is abysmal to the point of them saying “no we can’t make a cosmo, we can’t make a screwdriver” but genuinely it’s the service that has been really off putting.

Unfortunately will not be coming back. I have never had such a blatantly hostile experience as a customer. If you don’t want people coming in just close for the night, don’t just stand there making everyone who comes in feel uncomfortable.

Always have the best time here, every time I bring new friends they are impressed with the level hospitality for the small space. Such a welcoming, accommodating atmosphere.

Have never felt more safe and welcomed upon entering a bar. Owner Jessy made my friends and I feel incredibly comfortable right away, and made sure our important night felt extra special. Big shout out to Jessy and the staff who went above and beyond. Highly recommend on to all those visiting!

Love the bar, they make you feel like family, friendly. Everyone knows everyone and treated well. Love the owners to pieces. They make you feel welcomed. Bouncer is amazing, down to earth and friendly. Always talks to customers with respect and is always helping. Feels like a small house party when there.

Cozy, speakeasy style vibe with a unique atmosphere and great service. Jesse the bartender is amazing friendly, skilled, and passionate about what he does. The owner was super welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a cool, intimate bar with great cocktails and great people.
