Asian Mart

Not a bad place, has a lot of Hong Kong snacks, and the food portions are relatively OK (I would say portions need to be a bit bigger for the proteins). The staff was friendly. Paying an extra $1 for the wonton is OK (handmade, on the spot, but need to make it bigger, as my 3 wantons were mainly dough).

Wanted to update my review as they’ve started putting prices and name tags on new products again and I’m very happy about that! They continue to be cheaper than competitors. My only gripe is that they still don’t have names and prices on all products and sometimes when they put a product on sale due to it being close to or past the BB date, not all employees seem to be made aware of it so I’ve been mischarged/had to tell employees that there should be a discount multiple times.

Really hard to get in. It turned out that the entry was the restaurant next to it. And it’s bad to scam your customer to label something with sugar and calories as 0 cal+0carb (you even mark it 7 sugar bruh). People with diabetes may drink it and suffer.

Inside the Hong Kong Express, there is a small Asian convenience store with many products. It sells a wide variety of snacks, food and tea drinks from China, Japan and Korea. Because it is connected to a restaurant, I always have the desire to buy something after eating.

The price is quite fair, like a bottle of Japanese tea is 2.79-3.5 plus tax.

Note that the seasonings and frozen foods need to go through the restaurant, which some customers may not notice. Sometimes it is open until 10:30 and sometimes around 9:00. For people who live near around Rideau st. the location is easy to find.

A nice little shop alongside a restaurant. Haven’t tried the restaurant food here, so no comments there.
The shop had quite a selection of niche items – minions skittles, Pokémon chocolate wafer, mentos duo flavour, and the list goes on. Really cool.
Compared to other places I’ve been to, I found the prices of most store items here to be reasonable, especially the bag of turtle chips.
It appears that they also sell cakes in containers located on the right as soon as you enter. Those seem overpriced.
