Thai Panda Gatineau Halal

Simply WOWWW, best Halal Thai cuisine in Gatineu. I order crispy beef, tom yam soup and fried rice and all were equally delicious. The portions are HUGE and price is really good. The lady, at counter, was very friendly and explained everything about my order to me.I am recommending everyone who wants to go their, best place in town.

What’s good: beautiful nice place with a great interior and exterior. Friendly servers.
What can be improved: no wifi in the restaurant but the reception is really bad there.
Beef soup wasn’t rich, the broth should be cooked longer and more richer. Didn’t like it.
No extended drinks menu. Just pop and water.

I visited this restaurant with friends on Friday, December 26, 2026, and we had an excellent experience. We came from Montreal. The food was outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The environment was warm and inviting, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal together.

The service was exceptional, and the owners were incredibly welcoming and kind, which made us feel truly appreciated as guests. Overall, a wonderful restaurant in Ottawa that I highly recommend. We will definitely be back!

This Thai/Chinese style restaurant offers classic dishes at a very fair price. They serve mainly individual plates including rice, and we found the portions were sufficient. Great quality/quantity/price ratio.

They only serve halal meats, shrimps and tofu that you can include in a selection of dishes.

We tried the General Tao chicken (classic Canadian/Chinese style), a pad thai and a beef with basil. They were all delicious, but the General Tao was pretty standard.

Service: staff was very courteous, but busy. We had to wait for water, and ustensiles and napkins were missing from the container on most tables. Not a huge issue but had to be noted.

Btw, I think you forgot to charge my Coke, so I owe you one next time I drop by!

Atmosphere: we came at dinner time and since there is a lot of takeout and deliveries, most of the time you have delivery people standing in the packed entrance. Nothing against this type of service, as I understand some people like to pay more to eat cold food, while restaurants accept a reduced profit to be part of the game.

Recommended for some dishes. Will return for sure.

It’s fully 100% halal which is rare in the Ottawa-Gatineau area. The restaurant is located in the beautiful Agora complex, with free parking for two hours. The area, decor, and service are all excellent.

We first tried their General Tao chicken and crispy beef (take-out) and enjoyed it so much that we came back to dine in. The General Tao, crispy beef, beef dumplings, and wonton soup were all delicious, especially the broth and dumplings, which were full of flavour.

It’s refreshing to find a place that’s fully halal, with no pork or alcohol on the menu and no non-halal items to avoid. Highly recommend!
