JAMES: We celebrated my husbandβs birthday at Mousse Buvette in Vieux-Hull last night, and it was a phenomenal experience from start to finish. The restaurant was incredibly lively, yet managed to feel intimate and cozy at the same time. We were seated in the beautiful bay window, which was magicalβit felt as though we were sitting outside in the crisp winter night, but wrapped in the warmth of the wood stove.
The food was exceptionally amazing. The St. Jacques (scallops) appetizer was an absolute “wow” moment; several friends at our table ordered it and were completely floored by the quality. For the main, the magret de canard is a non-negotiable must-orderβthe portion was generous, perfectly prepared, and delicious. Their wine selection and pairings were also spot on.
However, the true highlight of our evening was the service. Our server, JAMES, was world-class. He is incredibly talented and tailored his approach perfectly to our group of eight. James anticipated our every need before we even had to ask; he was playful, energetic, and completely “killed it.” He managed the flow of our table so effortlessly that we were all able to just relax and soak in the vibe.
