South Asian Supermarket

I recently visited this store and unfortunately had an uncomfortable experience. The staff member at the till appeared unprofessional and struggled with basic checkout tasks, which caused unnecessary confusion . During the interaction, a comment was made that felt inappropriate and left us feeling uncomfortable and embarrassed. Overall, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming, which was disappointing. I hope management can address staff training and customer service standards to ensure all customers feel respected and comfortable.

This was my first and definitely my last visit to the South Indian Market near Bayshore. As a doctor, I always believe in treating everyone with respect — but sadly, the same courtesy was not returned here. The staff were incredibly rude and impatient. I was in a rush and got confused with their strange debit/credit payment policy that no one bothered to explain. Instead of clarifying politely, the shopkeeper ordered me rudely, saying, “Don’t do this mistake again!” — completely unprofessional and unnecessary. I was shocked by his tone and attitude, especially toward a paying customer. If this is how they treat people, I can only imagine how others must feel walking in there. The whole experience was insulting and frustrating. Honestly, never again — this was my first and last visit. Hell no, I would never recommend this place to anyone

I would rather don’t give this one start to this south Asian supermarket. They are scammers. As show in the below pictures, I bought this gulab jamun pack when I was trying to see the expiry date I observed that there is this red sticker added on the back of the pack with all the details. They are scamming customers by changing the expiry dates and selling old stock. Please don’t products from this store.

We returned few other products which we bought from them and they were fighting with us that it’s not their fault.

THEY ARE SCAMMERS.. DON’T BUY FROM THEM..

Pls check for expired items store won’t check and remove like canadian or American stores. Pls don’t expect ambience or customer service. Prices are bit costly compared to other Indian stores. Mostly Kerala items are found. Some vegetables are good and fresh, May be they can inform clients when it arrives by maps update or insta.

When we went Okra was good just arrived, mint, coriander, louki and drumstick was fresh, small onions were good too. Other veggies so so.

Get those things that you won’t get in walmart or loblaws or farmboy. Pls check for expiry date and don’t regret later if you forget.

Just a heads-up when purchasing in larger quantities—it’s a good idea to check the items carefully, and keep the receipt carefully. Unfortunately, we encountered an issue(bugs) but were unable to exchange due to not having the receipt. While we understand store policies, we had hoped the branding would assist with a resolution for a 8lbs bag.
