I have genuinely never tasted better chicken in my life writing this as im mucking you gotta try this is better than any jerk chicken in toronto or ottawa its insane bro and the dude in der was a vibe trust me

This little corner of a take-away place is the BOMB!! (in the best way possible).

His Jamaican BBQ chicken is to die for. Period.

Always good. Lovely small operation. He, the owner, cooks with LOVE.

We buy the chicken by the piece (skipping rice and doing 2 or 3 pieces). Flavour is incredible (totally addictive).

Do Good Food is one of the best take out places I’ve tried in Ottawa! Me and my partner ordered the Jerk Chicken (which came with rice & plantain), and the Oxtail (also rice & plantain). Truly amazing bold flavours and the oxtail was definitely a 10/10 from me. The service was awesome too, thank you for an amazing meal!

Another one of those places that have been on my want-to-go list, but for some reason, never got around to. I have been absolutely been missing out. Food hits. It’s a one man show (I think) and he’s super friendly! We came in not really knowing what we wanted and ended up with an order of jerk chicken, added on plantains, and then a last minute decision for a patty and he took it all in stride as we kept stacking our order up.

The jerk chicken has a great kick and flavour. Rice and peas were well seasoned. Great portions. Plantains were just sweet enough and not oily. And the patty… Flaky! Buttery! Just perfect in all the ways and I was far too excited about it I forgot to take a decent picture.

Happy to return and try more of their menu out. I thought they only took cash and debt but they accept other cards as well!

Take out mainly, you have a small bar to sit at but we took the chance and picnicd out by the park on a chilly evening… was event worth sitting out in the cold wind to eat the food while it was still hot.

As one review states, you step in and just know you’re in for good food. The owner is so welcoming and kind. I applaud the owner and cook for his authenticity, kindness and talent in bringing Jamaican flavor to us. We got the oxtail and jerk chicken (split) and wow. We are from Vancouver and very spoiled by good food there. We were struggling to find real authentic flavor in Ottawa and this 👏 place 👏 delivered! And then some. Rice is hot and juicy, dripping with spices. Spice level is perfect. Flavour is complex and authentic. My husband liked the oxtail best and I liked the chicken. Meat was fall off the bone, juicy and packed with spices. We drove to the beach (6 mins away) and ate there. We also got a spicy meat patty and loved it!!! The dough is slightly sweet yet so flavorful, and the meat is perfectly seasoned. Lastly, the coleslaw that comes with the meal is a perfect refresher.
