Newly renovated high end interior. The head chef has skills as the food is excellent, NOT your typical lower quality Chinese cooking. This place comes close to fine dining.

Get the black pepper beef ribs on the dim sum menu. Service was pretty good, typical Asian style. Jason’s tea was lovely and they refilled our pot. Portions are massive.

Women’s bathroom didn’t allow toilet paper in the toilet bowls..

– wet fried black bean rice noodles with beef were typical…probably would not order again. Masssive portion. I’ve had better but this is typical for Ottawa.

Food was excellent, this is a great addition to the Ottawa Chinese food scene in yhe wake of the closure of some of the old restaurants.

I have not tried a full dim sum experience here yet but what I tried was good. I definetly believe there is room to improve like with table side sauces so that you don’t have to ask for it. But the prices are reasonable and I cannot wait to try more.

I am really happy there is a place I can get taro duck. The lobster was juicy, pea tips were well made, and ha gow was well proportioned without the feel of it being frozen bought. Roasted duck here was really juicy and definetly something I’d order again.

I have been trying to find a good Chinese restaurant in Ottawa for a while. Most of them are disappointing. Either not authentic enough or too expensive for the quality or both lol. This one is definitely a hidden gem in Ottawa. Do not let the name fool you. The price range is really good because it varies. We ordered six dishes. Let me tell you that was a mistake as their portions are pretty big! The beef Rice rolls, beef ribs and BBQ pork are some of the best  that I’ve had. This coming from a Cantonese. We ended up packing alot of leftovers to take home because we didnt know the portions were that big. I couldn’t believe Ottawa has Chinese food that taste just as good as some of the restauratns in Toronto. I will definitely be going back. I’m glad Ottawa finally has a good Chinese restaurant like this.

We visited 99 VIP Seafood, the new Chinese restaurant that just opened in downtown Ottawa, and overall had a great experience. We came as a family and sampled several dim sum dishes. The chicken feet were savoury, tender, and full of flavour. The shiu mai wasn’t our favourite — the shrimp paste had more of a powdery texture rather than the chunky shrimp bite you typically get at other dim sum spots — but everything else we tried was enjoyable.

The squid tentacles were another highlight and ended up being my son’s favourite dish. The BBQ bird was also a standout, with perfectly crispy skin and meat that wasn’t overly dry inside — not easy to achieve!

Service was friendly and attentive throughout our visit. The only downside is the location. Being right downtown means parking can be inconvenient, and the surrounding area has a fair bit of homelessness, which can feel uncomfortable at times. But once you’re inside, the restaurant is clean, welcoming, and a strong addition to Ottawa’s Chinese cuisine scene.

Definitely worth trying if you’re craving dim sum or Cantonese-style dishes!

Beautifully decorated restaurant. Very chill and elegant aesthetics. Didn’t try much of the dimsum as it’s the soft opening and the rice rolls which are my fave were unavailable. But for the few items we tried was quite fresh and delicious.

Some of the menu items we tried are the octopus and taro duck, both were flavourful and had a good bite to it.

Server refilled our tea several times without asking so they were attentive while giving you space. All in all a good experience! Once everything settles in should be better overall. With more menu and dimsum options available.

The atmosphere of this restaurant is definitely a highlight – clean, stylish, and comfortable, which makes it a pleasant place to sit down and enjoy a meal. Service was attentive and friendly, and the food overall tasted good, though not particularly outstanding. Everything was nicely presented and portions were fair, but the prices are on the higher side compared to what you get. Still, if you value a nice environment and solid service, this is a good spot to consider for a casual night out with friends or family.
