Koichi Ramen keeps things refreshingly simple , and that’s exactly where it shines.
The menu is built around an easy, almost meditative formula. 1. pick your ramen, 2. pick your protein, and 3. pick your spiciness.
That simplicity opens the door to a ton of combinations, without ever feeling overwhelming or fussy.
On my visit, it did look like they were a bit short-staffed, but service was still adequate, friendly, unhurried, and attentive enough to let the food do the talking.
And the food absolutely does. The ramen itself was just perfect – deeply flavoured broth, satisfying noodles, and a balance that feels intentional rather than overworked. Kudos to the man begin the stove!
At one point, I even overheard another couple saying it was some of the best ramen they’d ever had, a sentiment I’d have to agree with.
This was my first visit to Koichi Ramen, but with plenty of cold days still ahead, I’m certain it won’t be my last. There’s real comfort here, done right.
