I prefer this location over the other location on Somerset. Both are great, but this one is just a tad better in terms of atmosphere and food.

Service is always great! Just keep in mind that it can get a little chilly during the winter because of the layout and there is limited seating so a wait time is expected during the dinner rush.

Koichi Ramen keeps things refreshingly simple , and that’s exactly where it shines.

The menu is built around an easy, almost meditative formula. 1. pick your ramen, 2. pick your protein, and 3. pick your spiciness.

That simplicity opens the door to a ton of combinations, without ever feeling overwhelming or fussy.

On my visit, it did look like they were a bit short-staffed, but service was still adequate, friendly, unhurried, and attentive enough to let the food do the talking.

And the food absolutely does. The ramen itself was just perfect – deeply flavoured broth, satisfying noodles, and a balance that feels intentional rather than overworked. Kudos to the man begin the stove!

At one point, I even overheard another couple saying it was some of the best ramen they’d ever had, a sentiment I’d have to agree with.

This was my first visit to Koichi Ramen, but with plenty of cold days still ahead, I’m certain it won’t be my last. There’s real comfort here, done right.

An exceptionally competent and not overly salty ramen place with a lovely aesthetic and helpful staff. Food was priced fairly and very tasty and the ramen bowls themselves were well seasoned without being overpoweringly salty or greasy. Seating was a bit hard for a long stay but ambience was lovely especially with the snow outside. Drinks and apps were good and overall a great date night experience.

This ramen restaurant really hits all the right spots! As a vegetarian it’s hard to find a ramen place that has yummy options for me and for others who aren’t vegetarian. My husband is picky with his ramen, and is always pleased with his meals from here!

For vegetarians, I’ve tried them all and prefer the miso (but the curry is a close second!). My husband’s favourite is the Signature (it’s a classic for a reason!). I also high recommend the tofu appetizer!

The staff are also all so nice, even when they are swamped! Kudos to them 🙂

Have been wanting to try the spot for quite some time and when you walk in, it is very dark in there, and the only light was from the main windows being open, which was a bit odd to me, but maybe that’s a part of the ambiance and atmosphere.

The table that we were at was actually very sticky to the point the menu kept sticking to it, so I don’t think it was cleaned properly and water top up had to be asked for instead of it being proactively done. Now I understand there was only one server, but I think there was only about 4 to 5 tables of people as it was a Thursday evening and not super busy. Our server was friendly. I just found she didn’t come by as often and we had to fly her down a few times.

The food was very good though the dip for the chicken karaage was wasabi based so it was spicy. I would recommend asking for a different dipping sauce if possible. There are a lot of choices for the noodles broth and a lot of additional extras. You can add to it. I found the pork belly to be really good and the egg was also really good.

When you are done, you actually get up to go pay at the front which they don’t tell you so make sure you look for the sign at the front counter.

I would definitely recommend checking it out and I would return again just for the food alone.
